Guides
The system, explained plainly.
Two guides you use, and three you read. All plain language, sourced from the current official pages, and dated so you can see they are not stale.
Use these
Two guides that work it out with you.
Not pages to read. Tap a few answers and each one shows you your next step, with the source beside it. Nothing you enter is stored.
Starting out in the disability support system
Seven quick taps, no typing. Then where to start, who to ring, and the rules as they actually are, sourced and dated. Build a list to take to your NASC or host. Ask the guide anything in the corner.
Getting assessed for ADHD in New Zealand
A calm map of the three routes to an adult assessment, what changed in 2026, and a guide you can ask questions in your own words.
Read these
The written guides.
More guides are coming. If there is a part of the system you wish someone explained plainly, email Jamie and it goes on the list.
How these work
Current, sourced, dated.
The support system changed a lot in 2026, and much of what search engines and AI tools serve up is older than the changes. Every guide here names its official sources and shows when it was last checked against them. Where the honest answer is “nobody publishes this”, the guide says exactly that.
Shorter, single-question answers live on the Funding Q&A page. These guides are the longer maps.
More complicated than a general guide?
Talk it through with a person.
